Story
On Sunday 12th September 2021 the day of my 43rd birthday I plan to walk from Comber Rec Football Club, Parkway, Comber to Windsor Park, Donegall Avenue, Belfast to raise much needed funds for the Stroke Association.
I have been volunteering for The Stroke Association during the pandemic as a volunteer in their "Here for You" telephone service providing telephone support to stroke survivors who have been feeling lonely or isolated.
Every five minutes, strokes destroy lives. But with courage, determination and the breakthroughs that come from research, recovery is possible. As a charity, the pandemic has cut the stroke research budget in half, putting vital improvements in treatment and care at risk. Every stroke survivor’s life is worth living. That’s why stroke research is worth saving. Please give a donation to the Stroke Association and make a difference for stroke survivors.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
