Story
On Saturday 8th September, Robin Morris, Chairman of Morris and Co, and Chris Morris, CEO/MD of Morris Site Machinery, are being joined by a team of fellow businessmen and friends from across the region in cycling 100 miles in aid of The Royal British Legion.
The ride will see them start at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, first stopping at the Royal British Legion’s ‘Battle Back Centre’ in Lilleshall before continuing on to the Wilfred Owen Memorial in Oswestry. From there, the team will head to the Quarry in Shrewsbury where a rendition of ‘The Last Post’ will be played in front of St Chad’s Church.
The charity is particularly poignant to Robin and Chris as Cliff Morris, their Grandfather and previous Director of Morris and Co for 55 years, received the Legion D‘honneur in 1999, the same year that he turned 100.
In the centenary anniversary of the guns falling silent as the First World War ended, the Royal British Legion have launched the #ThankYou100 campaign. The Royal British Legion provides support for the Armed Forces community – be that those currently serving, veterans or their families.
