Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
July 2020. I thought I should update my page given the fact that I should have run this event in May, and yet I’m still training! Along with everything else, the Brathay 10in10 2020 has been postponed, but here we are, hopefully just over 10 weeks from the start line (23rd October) and training is well underway once again. I appreciate that these last few months have been difficult, to say the least, for so many, but if you are able to support the work of Brathay and help them to help the young people who will have been so seriously impacted by this pandemic alongside their life circumstances which were already difficult then please give as much as you are able. Thank you for your ongoing support and patience xx
July 2019...Until now I’ve just told a few friends and family that I’m doing this next year...and yes, they all think I’m completely mad!
The only marathon I have ever run was London in 2016 and in the end that was under quite difficult circumstances. I did it though and finished with a smile raising loads of money in memory of my brilliant dad.
My running has been very patchy since then (I love to run, but when I don’t do it for a while I forget and then it hurts to start again!)...BUT.... I am back and in need of a new challenge. If you know me at all you will know that I don’t do things by halves, so this year I decided to ‘up my game’ and go for 10 marathons in 10 days...!!
The Brathay Trust do amazing things for children and young people in building confidence and resilience and helping them see that nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself. They believe that everyone has the capacity to do extraordinary things that can inspire and benefit others. So...what better way to support them than by doing something extraordinary!
My training has begun and if you live nearby you might have seen me puffing through the village on a daily basis! The physical challenge is going to be enough of a mountain to climb for me, so if you don’t mind and can help at all I would appreciate any donations big or small so that I can focus on the training and not panic about fundraising!
Thanks in advance for being amazing and supporting this wonderful local charity in the important work they do. Michelle xx
