Story
For children in the UK, playing is something we all take for granted. We are never far away from a football pitch, playground, and many other free, ubiquitous facilities that we are all born with the freedom to use. For children in less developed parts of the world, these facilities are infinitely more scarce, and it would make an immense difference to the schools in these nations to have functional play areas where they can let off steam and have fun.
I will be travelling, with Play Action International, to Jinja, Uganda, where we will build a playground for a school, meet the school's children and teachers, and spend some time having a look around Uganda and its natural sights. This playground will make a huge difference to those at the schools, encouraging students to come to school and improving their education experience; research shows that play areas increases attendances, encourages improved behaviour and social skills, and even employment rates being significantly higher when children had access to play facilities.
I would be really grateful for any contributions, so please donate what you can; every little helps :)
