From the germ of an idea two years ago, finally, plans have come together for an epic journey Driving the Silk Road. This July and August I will be driving a BMW X3 from Xiamen in Fujian province, South East China to Liskeard in the beautiful, but all too often rainy, county of Cornwall in South West England. This journey will see me travel through China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, France and finally the UK.

The objective of Driving the Silk Road is to raise funds for Save the Children, an international charity which believes that all children around the world deserve a future. In times of crisis Save the Children is among the first to respond, and usually the last to leave, ensuring that children are kept safe and their needs are met at times when they are most vulnerable.

This should be a journey rich in experiences and with tales to tell, while at the same time making a valuable contribution to Save the Children. Please donate and support this worthy organisation. Thank you.
