Story
St Ann’s Hospice provides much needed care to adults and their families living with a life-limiting illness. So many people I have spoken to are or have been affected by terminal illness. Close friends I have lost would not have had quality time with family and a good death without the support of a Hospice and the wonderful teams who work there.
For me, doing the trek will be a tough, emotional and very physical experience but also a journey on which to remember friends who have passed. Like many I know, I also don’t cope with the cold very well, so managing this aspect and not getting frost bite, or worse, will be a challenge. Training and preparing will certainly keep me busy but it will be worth it.
Plus the trek is one of a number of activities I am planning in the next 6 months which will, I hope, raise £16,000 towards the £20000 cost of providing Hospice care for a day.......yes that is how much! I’m looking forward to having the support of family, friends, colleagues and people across the community to help raise the funds and would love you to be part of something so meaningful and memorable.
Please sponsor me and support this wonderful organisation and all that they do. Thank you.
Best wishes
Maria
