We offer support and fund research to improve the lives of those with PSP/CBD

Story

I am taking on a 90-day weight loss challenge to help raise awareness
of a rare brain disease called Corticobasal Degeneration or CBD.

I will lose three stone in three months in honour of my mother, Jacqui, who was diagnosed with CBD 5 years ago.

CBD is a rare, degenerative brain disease which causes brain cells to become damaged and die over time, this leads to difficulties with movement, speech, memory and swallowing. Unfortunately, there is no single test for CBD nor is there a treatment or a cure.

To help with the weight loss challenge, I will be walking 10,000 steps a day and fundraising for UK charity PSPA, who support people living with CBD and a similar brain disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Beginning on Monday 19 April, Marc will fit in his daily step target, which ties in with PSPA’s awareness campaign 10,000 Voices, around his busy work and family life, using early morning, lunchtime and evening walks around the local area and landmarks.

PSPA is a national charity providing support and information to people living with PSP and CBD, while funding research into treatments and ultimately a cure. We aim to improve the lives of everyone affected by PSP and CBD. We rely entirely on voluntary donations, and that's why we need your support.
