Story
My dad sadly passed away at the beginning of 2020, after suffering from Alzheimer's for 5 years. He was a great man who was taken far too soon by a horrible disease.
I am attempting my first ever marathon on what would have been his birthday, 2nd October. Although I am a relatively keen runner, I have never run further than a half marathon distance so this will be a major challenge, and one that I really hope you can support.
I am also looking for people to join me along the way to run as much or as little of the distance that you're able to do. My hope is to run the full distance in under 3hours 40 minutes, which is 8:24 a mile or 5:13 a km. Please let me know if you'd like to join me and how far you'd like to run (I can plan start and finish points along the route) and help raise some money for what is a cause very close to my heart.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Anything you can possibly give would be massively appreciated. And if you want to follow my training progress, it will be on Strava and here if I have done it correctly!
