Story
Dear friends,
We did this video to keep the Australian bushfires at the forefronts of our minds.
The Australian bushfires aren’t headline news anymore but we’re still seeing devastation.
More than 10 million hectares have been burnt, and this number continues to climb.
That’s the equivalent of 40% of the entire UK. Lives, homes, and an estimated 1.25 billion animals have been affected.
These catastrophic megafires are worsening the extinction crisis we’re already facing. It is a wildlife crisis, as it is a climate emergency.
Funds raised from this JustGiving page will go towards WWF’s Australia Bushfire Appeal.
With the money raised, WWF’s Australia teams along with local organisations will carry out work including:
HELP support urgent vital veterinary care on the ground and at scale across Australia
HELP provide wildlife food and water for those who are starving in bushfire impacted regions.
HELP perform rapid assessments of fire impacted areas.
HELP recover and restore the natural habitats through the Towards Two Billion Trees plan to save and grow two billion trees by 2030. This starts with planting the first 10,000 urgently needed trees in critical habitat.
HELP pressure governments to strengthen laws that prevent excessive tree-clearing, before it's too late.
Even a small donation can change the life and the future of the wildlife in Australia. Thank you for your support.
