I have rescued my last 3 dogs from Holly Hedge and Max was my last dog, in the photo with me. I am proud to run my only Marathon for them. Please give generously. Sadly we lost Max in June 2020. We have now adopted Remy who is a little tike. A work in progress!
Finally we set off on 3rd October 2021. Let's hope I can make it. Please sponsor me for the charity.
Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary is an independent animal rescue charity in Bristol who have an open door policy, meaning we are frequently a last hope for animals that are elderly, have diseases or perhaps suffer with behavioural issues. We are proud to help up to 1,000 animals each year, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals that may be euthanised in other shelters. We have a small core team of staff, most of them paid on a part time basis, and as we receive no Government or lottery funding we rely heavily on our regular volunteers and support from our wonderful community.
We will never put a healthy animal to sleep, and believe there is someone out there for every animal, so our promise is to care for them as if they were our own until they find their forever homes. Our running costs are ever increasing, and our vet bills are currently £100,000 annually.
Over the winter months each kennel and cat pen costs £60.17 to heat per month - but with elderly or ailing animals their comfort is always priority.
