Story
I have Parkinson's. It's a nasty, insidious little beast that takes chunks of brain cells and turns them on and off at random times. The meds help but it's not a perfect solution. There is currently no cure.
I do what I can to raise funds to support their work and research into helping people in the future.
I've hosted a couple of fun quizzes, run a bit, walked a lot and decided that long distance swimming would be fun. More fun is planned.
2021:
- 29th May I walked 100 miles along the SVP from Cattawade to Newmarket, back to Long Melford and home. Non stop.
- On 19th June 2021 I swam 2 miles in Gosfield Lake
- MY BROTHER ALSO CYCLED 205 MILES FOR ME, Chasing The Sun.
- Having planned to wonk 60 miles down the Welsh coast of Cardigan Bay kept company by Mr Sandford who I suspect is hoping I'd forget, the event was postponed so we agreed to walk The Essex Way instead.
- On 14th August 2021 I walked 50km from Sudbury to Cattawade on the SVP.
- On 19th September I swam 2 miles in the Serpentine and completed and collected my London Classics Medal.
- On 26th September I had planned to swim 5km at Eton Dorney Lake but it was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid so I did it at Gosfield Lake instead.
2022
- 6th February 2022 I Jeffed the Watford Half.
- At the end of May I'm joining a relay team to run from London to Paris.
- On 12th June 2022 I am entered into the Sudbury Triathlon.
- 23rd July my mate Rich and I are going to Conquer the Castle, 6 hours of historic Jeffing.
- And finally, for reasons even I'm not quite convinced about, I've entered the Eton Dorney 10km swim on 25th September 2022.
Health and injury played a huge part in changes to this timetable so I missed Sudbury Triathlon, did 5km at Eton Dorney and threw in a virtual London Marathon on 2nd October.
Any other suggestions?
Is that worth a few pennies?
