Join us on the Maggie's Leeds to Newcastle cycle ride. Our aim is to get over 100 cyclists to take part, complete the route and raise money for Maggie's.

As for all charities, the adverse impact of COVID has been significant. Whilst we had to defer the original date planned for the ride (19 June 2021), the positive is that the money raised to date via this site has already benefitted Maggies. Thank you to all who have kindly donated. 

We still face uncertain times ahead but have made a few tweaks to the day to make the event resilient to any future COVID outbreak implications.

Event date: Friday 17 June 2022

Start: Maggie’s, St James’ Hospital, Leeds. Meet from 7:00am. Rider final briefing 7:45am.

Grand depart: Initial wave set off at 8am (riders expected to take longer to complete the course). Further waves to leave in 5 minute gaps, merely to avoid a significant number of riders leaving Maggie's Leeds at the same time.

Finish: Cycle Hub, Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne 

Anticipated finish time will be dependant on rider ability. Assuming an 8am start time and riding at 15mph, two 15 min breaks and one hour for lunch, total time would be 8hrs 45 mins, ETA therefore 5pm.

Distance: 106 miles

Route elevation: 4,721 feet

The finish will be at Cycle Hub, Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne. Maggies Newcastle will come to the venue.  There will no longer be a charity dinner in the evening. Food and drink (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) will be available to purchase after the ride for all (whether rider or those who join for food/drinks only). 

We want as many riders to sign up as quickly as possible.
