Lee Worrall is a Landmarc
Plumbing and Heating Engineer based in Kirkcudbright in South West
Scotland. Along with a DIO colleague WO2 (QMSI) Scott Maclean he is
raising money in support of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families
Association (SSAFA). The team are climbing Snowdon in North Wales in the
week leading up to Christmas this year. Their initial target is to raise
£500 for the charity but happily they look set to exceed that target.
They are set to climb on 21st
December and will be using the Llanberis Path. The ascent will see them
cover approximately 9 miles, climbing to a height of 1085m and should take
around 6 hours. Daylight is a little sparser at this time of the year and
the pair will have to begin the ascent before sunrise in order to complete the
descent in daylight.
Lee said “Scott and I both
wanted to raise money for charity doing something we normally wouldn’t.
The whole thing is a little out of my comfort zone, but I am thoroughly looking
forward to it. With any luck we will break our initial target of £500.”
