Mental health is something that has touched our community in a profound way over the last few years and months and with the recent lockdown and pandemic it’s really shown itself as a dangerous and deadly problem that only gets closer to home, particularly amongst young people like ourselves.
We felt we needed take action, which is why we have decided in April 2021 to do a sponsored parachute jump in support of the mental health charity MIND.
Our goal is to raise £2000 to support the cause and make sure there is no reason for anyone to suffer in silence. There is an increasing responsibility for young people during these unprecedented times to take initiative and try to make a difference for our generation. No matter how small.
Whilst the thought of a jump like this is daunting, we felt that it is simply incomparable to the turmoil that comes with mental illness, anxiety and depression and it is a challenge we can take on together. As a group of friends of 7 years and longer, we would like to promote the importance of friendship, kindness and an open dialogue about mental health as it was something that took us a while to realise as young men.
We would really appreciate any support and donations, however small. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts and the hearts of our friends and we would love to smash our target and really make a difference!
