So a brief reason why....

After walking in to the hospice and seeing how they have looked after our friends and their daughter we all felt that we wanted to do something to raise money. We spotted the colour dash and thought an assault course, being covered in paint and a bunch of friends having a laugh was the perfect way.

The Johnson family are our best friends, there’s five of them Andrew, Sharon, Katie, Liam and Lucy. Lucy has had complex health needs since she was 3 months old. She needs round the clock care and has had support and respite from East Anglia Children’s Hospice since she was 2yrs old. This support has enabled Sharon and Andrew to support Lucy at home but also have regular breaks so they can catch up on sleep and spend quality time with their other two children. Don’t get this wrong this family are amazing, Lucy is very much apart of this family, she sits on the side of Football pitches watching her brother, she goes to her sisters dance shows, she comes camping with us crazy lot, and is at all our parties (we have a few)  but all this happens because of the support and respite East Anglia Children’s hospice gives the family ensuring Lucy has the right equipment, tweaking her treatment, and the regular respite breaks so they can recharge their batteries.

All that on it’s own is incredible but there’s more......
Three weeks ago Lucy became incredibly unwell and was in hospital, sadly the plan was to move Lucy to the hospice so she could spend what time she had left in a comfortable environment with her family. The hospice that Lucy uses was closed for the week but there was no hesitation to open it just for her. The wonderful staff, some have known Lucy and her family for 10yrs came in and took over the responsibility of meeting Lucy’s medical and physical needs so Andrew and Sharon could focus on being mum and dad. The emotional support the family have had is overwhelming and without the wonderful staff they would not be coping at such a difficult time. Not only did the hospice open its doors to Lucy, her mum, dad, brother and sister can all stay onsite. They have welcomed Lucy’s Nannies, Grandads, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and friends. On some days it’s been a mad house with over 20 visitors. Each visitor is greeted by the staff with a caring smile and a massive welcome even when they’re visitor number 20. They have drinks made and meals cooked (yep that’s right sometimes for 20 people!)
With the incredible support and care of those involved Lucy is still here and she is still fighting.
We don’t usually beg but this is a beg worthwhile, 27 of us including the Johnsons are going to run this assault course and get covered in paint.
We all just wanted to give a little back to such an incredible cause so please please donate......
Much love

Sadly on the 1st April, our gorgeous little Princess Lucy gained her Angel Wings and Heaven gained the strongest little Angel. We cannot thank Milton hospice enough for everything they have done for Lucy and her family, we know they will continue to support them because they are simply AMAZING!

We must smash our target!
