Dave was a loving husband and family man, with 3 children and
 4 grand-children loved life and lived it to the full. He spent 24 years in the Royal Navy as a chef which he loved. When he left the navy he stayed in the catering industry. He spent 13 years At Cams Hall Golf Club where he had many happy years working and playing golf.

January 2015 Dave was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer to which he fought hard, he had 3 lots of Chemotherapy and then on the 1st June 2015 he under went a 9 hour operation. He had a tough time but pulled through and on the 3rd July 2015 was able to come home.

Things were going so well, Dave being Dave was very positive for the future. We then got the worse news ever, just after Christmas 2015 Dave had to go into hospital as he looked a bit jaundiced, he went through some tests only to be told that the cancer had come back to his liver and the there was nothing that they could do. The doctors said at best he had until Easter. . So again Dave being Dave with his positive attitude said “Oh well I had better go out and buy the kids Easter eggs”. But on the 19 January 2016 Dave lost his fight and passed away at home with all is family around him.
