Story
I will be running an 100km trail ultra-marathon in Northumberland this summer in aid of Blesma. I will be part of a Royal Engineers team and my chosen charity, Blesma is dedicated to assisting serving and ex-Service men and women who have suffered life-changing limb loss or the loss of use of a limb, an eye or loss of sight.
Training started in the first week of January and thus far I've covered over 450km on roads and trails, including through a winter when Kinloss spent whole weeks below zero degrees. My plans for a summer of training have been derailed by an unexpected deployment, so I will do my final preparation whilst overseas, even if it means running round and round my medical tent!
Life (especially with both the army and COVID) is unpredictable so just in case I don't get back in time for the race, or it gets cancelled, I'll be running 100km before I go, split between a 45km on 3rd April and 55km on 17th April. Both of these are ultra-marathons, so your donation will still have been hard-earned!
I'd love to get 100 people to sponsor a kilometre each, and if you've got a suggestion to add to my running playlist that would be much appreciated, as I'll need something to listen to during those long hours...
