On 11th September 2021, I will be completing the Thames Bridge Trek. This is a 25km walk which starts in Fulham in west London and ends in Southwark in east London, taking in 16 of London’s bridges (more information can be found on their website: https://ultrachallenge.com/thames-bridges-trek/). Hopefully the weather will be nice so I can take in all the sights; if not, there might not be that much difference between walking across the river and being in it!

I’m doing this because in October 2020, I lost a very special family friend called Tracy, also known to some as Margaret. She was a big part of my life for 28 years and I miss her every day.

In her final days, she stayed in St David’s Hospice in Llandudno, North Wales (down the road from where I am originally from) and was provided with excellent care. Hospices are amazing places generally in the way that they focus on the person still living, but I wanted to do something to thank this particular hospice for looking after Tracy, to celebrate Tracy’s life, to remember her family and many friends left behind and to do something to help families who find themselves in a similar situation to Tracy's family last year.
