Two years ago my amazing mum suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury which left her paralysed from the chest down. She died 8 months later but in that time we learnt so much about spinal cord injuries. We are forever grateful to the NHS staff and charities such as Aspire who are involved in supporting those with spinal cord injuries and their families. In memory of mum and to raise awareness of Aspire and their fantastic work, I'm taking on the Aspire Channel Swim 2020, swimming the distance of the English Channel over 12 weeks (aiming for 6 weeks!) to raise money for Aspire.
