Story
Hi,
I'm Julien Lawton and I'm climbing our nation's three highest peak's over three days with two of my three children - Amelia 14yrs and Harrison 16yrs.
We are doing this to raise funds and awareness for a charity which shows limitless kindness and compassion to those most in need. Holding On Letting Go are a fantastic charity that support children and carers who suffer the pain and anguish of loss through the death of a loved one.
I know this as they came to help my family. In 2012 we lost my wife Sara to breast cancer after an 18 month battle. I was told about the charity by a friend and despite reservations about how the children then aged 7, 5 and 2 would respond made contact. They put my
mind at ease and we talked about how they could help. All three attended a weekend workshop where they could be with others like them and normalise something which no child should have to deal with. The memory boxes they created are still in their bedrooms and it was a truly positive experience for myself as much as it was for them.
COVID has brought an unprecedented demand on the charity and they need our help and support to help families. I never thought I'd have to deal with the loss of my best friend but thanks to HOLG that journey was made a little bit more bearable.
Support me Amelia and Harrison as we tackle a mountain a day with Gracie co-ordinating the ascent at Lawton HQ, please.
