Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking on the Wing Walk Challenge in support of St David's Hospice on Sunday June 20th.
In the summer of 2012 I lost both my parents Ron & Joyce Jackson (aged 70 & 69) and mother-in-law Phyllis Bassett (age 73) in a matter of 3 weeks from each other to cancer.
Without much notice to any of them becoming seriously ill beforehand either, all three ended up at St David's Hospice Inpatients at the same time, which was a surreal situation in itself.
The medical team at the hospice were fantastic and managed to keep both my parents together until the end. The care they gave my parents, mother-in-law and the support given to me, my husband Simon and children through this dark time in out lives was incredible.
In 2019 history seemed to repeat itself when my husband Simon suddenly became ill only to find he had terminal cancer with very little time (he had only turned 53).
Again St David's Hospice was a huge support to me and my four teenage children through this dark time.
I had said after losing my mum, dad and mother-in-law in 2012 that I wanted to give something back to the Hospice but it has been a long and painfully journey and only now with the added loss of Simon do I feel ready to go for it, so let me do it in style and try and be brave enough to get strapped onto a plane to raise money for a cause extremely close to my heart.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. If you're a tax payer, please remember to gift aid your donation which means St David's Hospice can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.
