Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm doing the Tour Aotearoa (Brevet) 2022 cycle ride from Cape Reinga, at the top of the North Island, to Bluff in the deep South, as a retirement project, to help me lose some weight, (I've already lost 4 kilograms training for it) and to honour my father by raising money for Arthritis NZ. This year I will be the same age as dad was when he passed away after suffering terribly from arthritis, in days when hip-replacements were not easily accessible.
To follow my progress and for regular updates check out https://touraotearoa2022.maprogress.com?bib=dj&m=mh to follow my progress with the tracker I am carrying.

Arthritis NZ is a worthy cause as this statement from their website explains:
Vision and Mission Statement: Improving the life of every person affected by arthritis
We are a national charity that provides information, advice and support to people diagnosed with any of the more than 140 forms of arthritis. Arthritis affects more than 700,000 New Zealanders and is a leading cause of disability. There is no cure, but the condition can usually be managed effectively. Most people with arthritis continue to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
We also advocate for people with arthritis by funding research, contributing to health policy, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
