Story
If you live in Sheffield, you will no doubt be familiar with St Luke’s Hospice. You might even have a friend or loved one who was cared for by them at some point in time. They offer palliative care to those with a terminal illness and also support the loved ones of those in their care during an incredibly difficult time.
As a result of COVID, St Luke’s has seen their income drop by almost £100,000 per week as they are not able to raise funds via their usual sources. With this in mind, I have decided to take on a tough challenge to try and raise some money for them in March.
I am going to be doing the David Goggins 4 x 4 x 48 challenge. This means I will be running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. I will be doing my first run at 04:00 Saturday 6th March to coincide with the 20:00 start time in the USA (the official start of the event) and will start my final run at 00:00 on Monday 8th March.
It’s going to be an absolute grind (just thinking about the 04:00 run on the Sunday... horrible!). If you feel that this is worth a few quid, please donate to a great cause and give me the motivation to set that alarm clock on the day!
Cheers,
Joe
