Story
The Covid-19 pandemic has tested our mental health in ways perhaps that we could never have foreseen, which is why I’m determined to ‘Hike a Hill’ along with my hardworking constituency team for Scotland’s mental health.
Improving mental health is a priority for the Scottish Government and is an issue that I have raised since first being elected. I used my first Members’ Business debate in the Scottish Parliament to highlight the importance of mental health education to improving young people’s lives, and I’ll continue to support government work to improve mental health.
The mental health social care support SAMH provides to adults and young people locally and nationally is so important, and I’m pleased that every penny raised through my fundraiser will go directly to Sam’s Café services in Leven and Glenrothes.
I’ll be taking take on four Munros in Perth & Kinross this September as part of a Mountains Mend Minds campaign for Scots to 'Hike a Hill' for mental health.
Mountains Mend Minds is a website promoting the mental health benefits of hillwalking and was founded last year by Glenrothes hillwalker Ross Cunningham.
Please donate if you can – every donation will help to make a real difference locally.
