Story
On Sunday April 26th when you are thinking about dragging your backside out of bed and down to the pub I will be hauling my backside round all (hopefully) 26.2 miles of the London Marathon. I'm running for the Anthony Nolan Trust which raises funds to help recruit bone marrow donors for people suffering from leukaemia. The charity is named after Anthony Nolan who was born in 1971 with a rare disease that could only be cured through a bone marrow transplant. As there was no way of finding a suitable donor Anthony's mum, Shirley, established the Trust to find potential donors. Sadly a match could not be found in time for Anthony who died in 1979 but the charity that Shirley set up has prospered and has subsequently helped to save thousands of lives. So despite last year's promise of "never again" I will be there on the 26th. So please sponsor me and leave an encouraging message. You will be making a contribution to a wonderful cause. Many thanks
