Story
Hello,
I've entered into the Cardiff half marathon for October of 2021, raising money in aid of Wales Air ambulance.
In 2014 I was involved in a serious RTC just outside Llanarth on the A487, I was trapped in the car with a broken tibia and fibula and 2 broken ribs on the sternum from seat belt. My passenger suffered a broken eye socket, a large head laceration and chipped discs in his back and was airlifted to heath hospital in Cardiff. The helicopter reached its destination in just 25 minutes, to travel roughly 100 miles. That's incredible! And without this service the outcome would've been different that day.
During my recovery, during many consultant appointments my weight was mentioned that I was definitely on the larger scale than that I should've been. After my 12 weeks of recovery I looked at ways to tackle my weight, during a busy period in work I started losing weight so carried it on. Through various diets and a little help from being more active I've shed 5 stone and 10lbs and thought this was a great time to enter the half and give back to this amazing charity. I have completely turned my life around in the way of eating habits and the way I look at food, lockdown has been a great way of cutting back on meals out and social drinking.
Please help with whatever sum of money you can for WAA, I am totally grateful as they will be for absolutely anything you can give. You never know when you will need them.
