Story
This is a joint effort this year between the two of us to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. One man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer and it's just set to become even more common, so it's urgent to get it sorted. My Dad died of the disease and it has affected many others we know, so it's a cause very close to our hearts. Thanks to many of you who have supported our efforts before and any new supporters visiting our page.
This year we are planning to do 2 walking marathons as part of Jeff Stelling's 4 nation challenge in 4 days. He will be walking marathons in Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff and London. We will join him in Glasgow on 5th September and London on 8th September.
Jeff, a presenter on Sky Sports and various quiz shows, has been a great supporter of the charity. This is his 3rd major commitment in 4 years to raise money and awareness of the illness by walking marathons, visiting football clubs along the way, and encouraging hundreds of others to join him. In 2016, he did 10 walking marathons from Hartlepool to Wembley, 15 in 2017 from Exeter to Newcastle (Ian joined him for 10 of those and Ang for three) and this year will be 4 in 4 days, a different sort of challenge because of the extensive travel commitments between venues. By the end of this challenge, we all hope over £1 million will have been raised over Jeff's 3 events.
Thank you for your generosity. It is making a real difference.
