Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know I was due to be taking part in my 5th (and final !!!) London Marathon on 26th April 2020.

Unfortunately the event has been postponed due to this Coronavirus thing - you've perhaps heard about it.

The knock on effect of so many events being postponed or cancelled is that many charities are missing out on so much of the urgently needed funds that are raised at these events.

So in order to raise some much needed funds for Highland Hospice I shall be running a marathon in my garden on the day that I should be running a marathon in London.

As per usual I have done little or no training for this and I know that with the amount of corners I have to go round I certainly won't be breaking any records - so I'll be setting off early on Sunday morning with a slow and steady pace in mind and my trusty Garmin on wrist to make sure I don't stop until I reach the finish line at 26.219 miles

Morag, Jack & Katie shall be manning the drinks stations and also trying their best to replicate the noise of the millions of cheering fans that usually line the London route.

StayHomeStaySafe is of course the order of the day, but if you do pass my garden on Sunday on your way to collect essential supplies or as part of your daily exercise please give me a shout or a toot of the horn. You won't miss me - fat guy, yellow lycra, red face, running round in circles.

I know I've asked you all before and I know that times are hard at home, but imagine how hard they are in the Hospice...
