Loyd is challenging himself and others to raise funds for charity throughout May by taking part in 5K May.
Loyd has decided to walk not just 5 kilometres but 10 kilometres to raise funds for Chester-based charity, Children Today Charitable Trust.
The challenge aims to turn the month of May into a celebration of physical activity with the #5kMay campaign.
Loyds mum Helen says: When I asked Loyd if he wanted to take part in 5K May for Children Today, there was no hesitation. In fact, ever the optimist, he decided he wanted to walk 10 kilometres instead!
Loyd, who was born five-weeks prematurely, had some minor delays in his mental development but was progressing well, until sadly at the age of six he suffered a number of seizures, resulting in brain damage. The damage to his brain left Loyd unable to walk or talk and to this day the cause of the fits remains undiagnosed.
