The Grand Brighton Half Marathon 2019 · 24 February 2019 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year I ran my first ever half marathon to raise money for the Sussex Beacon. I set myself a personal goal of finishing in under two hours (mainly because that's what most people aim for). And then on that bitterly cold February morning, somewhere around Hove, about three miles from the finish line, my lovely husband Peter phoned to ask where I was. I was not a happy runner. Now I can't pretend that his phone call cost me the race, but when I came in at 2 hours and 7 minutes, I felt doubly frustrated and vowed to have one more go.
So here we are again. If you sponsored me last year then I can't thank you enough. Your donation has helped provide vital care and support for people living with HIV. If you decide to donate again, that would be absolutely amazing!
I learned a lot from last year's run. For instance, I now have wireless headphones so they don't get caught on other runners. I'll wear something with pockets, so I'm not running most of the race clutching my gloves like the Queen Mother. And who knew that when your feet start to cramp up it's probably because you've tried to run the whole race without a drink of water? Well, I know now.
Sunday 24th February - bring it on!
