In 2019, my sister Rosie contracted Meningitis. In the space of a day, she went from training with Saracens in the top flight of Women’s Rugby to bed bound in hospital for 10 days.

I was away in Greece when I found out that she had fallen unwell, and to be completely honest, I didn’t quite understand the severity of the disease at the time. Thankfully, with the help of some amazing medical staff and Meningitis Now, Rosie made a full recovery. The reality is that some people and their families are not so lucky. What I now understand is that identifying symptoms early and getting medical help as soon as possible can literally be the difference between life and death.

Meningitis Now are on a mission to ensure a future where no one loses their life to Meningitis, and those that are impacted by it are fully supported. Through this endeavour - Project Tangerine 2022 - I am hoping to create a platform to spread greater awareness of the disease within my small circle, whilst raising a noteworthy amount of money to fund future research, support, and care! And spending time with great people and having a lot of fun whilst doing it. I have tee'd up 6 challenges to complete in 6 months:

🌊 80-mile, 4-day hike and wild camp in Cornwall

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 125km, 2-day Scottish Highlands Ultra-marathon

⛰ 100km, 1-day Ultra-marathon in the Peak District

> Dartmouth Sprint Triathlon in Devon

> 24-hour Ultra-Running Relay at Endure24

🚴🏼‍♂️ 930 mile Ride Across Britain (Lands End to John O’Groats)
