Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2011 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, in July 2012 I married my husband, in October 2012 I started on Imuran (Immunosuppressant) and a course of steroids.

February 2013 stared Humira (a  Immunosuppressants which I had to inject every 2 weeks).

May 2014 I had my first hospital admission due to Crohn’s due to a stricture (narrowing of my small intestine).

August 2014 I qualified as a veterinary Nurse.

February 2015 I had surgery to remove part of My small intestine. In September 2016 I was diagnosed with depression, secondary to Crohn’s disease.

November 2016 admitted to hospital for IV antibiotics due to infection in my jaw muscle caused by Humira. In December 2016 admitted to hospital again and  had surgery to drain the infection in my jaw muscle. In December 2016 I received a certificate in exotic nursing. In  January 2017 another surgery to drain the infection from my jaw.

May 2017 admitted to hospital for a  severe Crohn’s flare and started on Inflixamab (another type of Immunosuppressants that I had to go into hospital for to have infusioned) and 6mp (a pill form of Chemo therapy)

August 2017 I had a  anaphylactic reaction to Inflixamab.  November 11th a colonoscopy showed my disease had worsened and I was started on a high dose course of steroids. November 24 2017 admitted to hospital for IV steroids because of a severe Crohn’s flare.
November 27th 2017 I had surgery for a loop ileostomy ( surgery to bring the small intestine through a hole in my stomach and  faecal waster collected in a bag) to “cool the fire that is my intestine.”

February 2018 started Stelara (another type of Immunosuppressants which I inject)

I’m so lucky to have loving family and friends who support me, so I decided to start a JustGiving page and do the 10k Walk It in June to raise money for Crohn's and colitis who help support those and their family and loved ones diagnosed with Crohn’s and or colitis and other forms of inflammatory  bowel disease (IBD)
