I am a 2nd year student nurse at Staffordshire university and currently I have been withdrawn from placement periods. The whole of the NHS is currently seeing unprecedented times and this is shadowed in our course. Our near future is uncertain, but I am aiming to be back in practice as soon as I can to support in any way possible. 

I aim raising money for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS trust as in recent times the staff have all had to step out of their comfort zone during Covid-19, as I'm not in practice this will be my way of joining them and doing the same by shaving my head. 

I have worked many placements in the trust, across all areas of the hospital and have seen the day to day pressures everybody faces. Despite these I have seen the dedication and compassion that is shown to patients and their loved ones. As well as this, the staff have fully supported me in my learning and development. Through my time in placements there has been days where I have struggled to come to terms with some aspects of our role, and there hasn't been a staff member who hasn't supported me through these. 

So this is my thank you to the trust and everybody who is working in it.
