Story
This June I will be completing my own My WALK IT Challenge, raising vital funds for Crohn's & Colitis UK.
Last year I had two very real, very bad flares, with the second resulting in an emergency resection. I’ve lived with my Crohn’s diagnosis since 2009 and I’ve had countless operations, but last year really tested me both physically and mentally. This is why I have decided to walk a half marathon’s distance throughout June to raise money and give something back to a charity I’ve relied so heavily on - especially in recent times. I’m going to push my OAP knees to their limits and make sure I get my steps in to do my bit. Anything you could donate would be beyond appreciated 💜
Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. And the real number could be almost double that. I am taking part in this event to raise funds and support Crohn's & Colitis UK to help improve diagnosis and treatment, fund research into a cure, raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.
