London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Hello!

For those of you who know me, you will be highly aware that I am not someone who loves running...in fact I think "actively despise" would be far more accurate. However, in 2019 I will be turning 26 and it occurred to me that if I was ever going to be able to run a marathon then there really is no better time. Don't worry...I am already questioning my logic.

I will be running the marathon in memory of my sister and my dad, both of whom died of Leukaemia, and fundraising for Bloodwise in the hope that more and more people will survive this hideous illness. Neither of them got the chance to reach certain milestones in their lives that others may take for granted and so, although I'm pretty certain they would have shuddered at the idea, I am going to run the marathon for them because they never got the chance to even say no thank you to the opportunity.
