People fleeing war and persecution undertake difficult and dangerous journeys to find safety. They deserve a safe haven, a warm welcome and an opportunity to rebuild their lives. But what they often encounter when they reach Europe and the UK is further danger, hostility, prejudice and a slow, cruel, and arcane asylum process. Community Sponsorship is a practical way to make a real difference, providing a safe route for a refugee family to resettle in the UK. 

WHO ARE WE, AND WHAT ARE WE DOING?

We're a group of local people who live in and around Glossop.  We have committed to support a refugee family to settle in our local area. This is part of a wider Community Sponsorship scheme, supported by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. Read more here:

As part of our commitment, we need to:

- Raise £10,500. Please give what you can!

- Find a home in or around Glossop rented at, or close to the cost of housing benefit

- Support the family's transition to life in the UK.
