We provide 24-hour care for babies to give respite to families

Story

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to make as many people aware as possible that I am taking on the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

As a mother myself, although very fortune that my son is in good health, I would pray that there was somewhere as supportive and comforting as Zoe’s Place should I ever be in the position to need their services. Donations are essential to fund their work.

National Three Peaks Challenge
Considered one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m).

I've added a some information below about what Zoe's Place do but take a look at their website for more information.

 What We Do

Palliative Care
The staff at Zoë’s Place provide care and support 24hrs a day for both the child and family. We are here to offer respite care through the most difficult of times to ensure the needs of the child and their families are met.

The staff of Zoë’s Place consist of a mixture of registered and support staff and are experienced in caring for children with life-limiting and/or life-threatening conditions. Additionally we work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the care we provide will allow a child to reach his or her full potential. The needs of the child and their family are central to any care plan that is developed.

Respite Care

The majority of the support we give at Zoë’s Place is respite care. All of the babies at the Hospice have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and require differing levels of 24 hour support on a one-to-one basis. Zoë’s Place offers our parents and carers a chance to recharge their batteries or to spend time with their other children.

The value of this respite care to our families cannot be underestimated and many families tell us that they simply would not be able to cope without the help and support of our team.

Our Hospice is designed to be a `home away from home’ in which the babies feel comfortable and are able to get the most out of our very special facilities.

Alongside the care that we offer to the children we also support the whole family with support through our parent support network and the sibling groups.
