Story
My mother took her own life in June 2020. She was an amazing person who I think about every waking hour.
In her memory and in the hope of stopping other people from dying by suicide, my family and I have established The Rose Paterson Trust. We raise and distribute funds to suicide prevention charities. From our first round of grants (worth a combined total of £131,000), we estimate the charities we supported used our grants to save at least 231 lives. We are incredibly proud of this achievement in our first year of operating and we think this shows that suicide is often a preventable tragedy.
I am therefore asking for donations to raise more money for The Rose Paterson Trust by running further than I probably should. I am going to run 48 miles in 48 hours on 3-5 March - this is split into 12 runs of 4 miles every four hours (yes, this means running in the middle of the night). Although physically daunting, I am expecting this to be even more of a mental test - getting up at 4am for another 4 mile run will test my resolve. I therefore think it is an appropriate challenge to raise money for a mental health charity such as ours.

Thank you very much in advance for any donations!
