Story
This Christmas time I am fundraising for people like Jacqueline. Tearfund is working with the local churches around the world to help heal trauma caused by conflict. Burundi is one of these countries. After fleeing to Rwanda to escape conflict, Jacqueline has decided it is safe enough to return home. Returning has been painful for Jacqueline. She came back to find her farm land had been given away. So she has to watch as her children go without food. There are times, like this morning, that my children get very hungry, says Jacqueline. By supporting my fundraising today, you can help a person like Jacqueline to rebuild their life.Joining a Tearfund-supported self-help group has been a huge support to Jacqueline. Jacqueline has been able to save and buy a goat and a bicycle, which one of her children uses to go to school or to collect water. In these groups, people tackle their problems together. Through this support, she is better able to feed and provide for her children.
Last year I only walked for 5 days. I am doubling up this year and hope to raise more in 10 days of walking the 100km.
Rain or Shine I am walking it!!!!
Plus the donation is doubled £1 = £2 for Tearfund WOW!!!
