Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi everyone,
I've agreed to take part in a 317 mile off road bike ride to Wembley for Rugby League Cares. The ride will take us 5 days and will without a doubt leave me with jelly legs, bum sores & horrendous chaffage!
Cycling isn't my thing. Ok, i quite like to go to the odd gym class, or go on a run, but I've never really got the cycling thing. I've always thought it was a bit weird; you know the Lycra, the glasses - no not for me. But now I'm having to embrace it and already I've realised I have bitten off far more than I can chew. Cycling is hard, especially off road on a mountain bike.
To make matters worse, if i don't get my act together and get some training miles in I'm really going to let the team down. You see, I'm not just doing this with average humans... I will be cycling with Rugby League greats and physical gods including Keith Senior & Eorl Crabtree, so the pressure is really on.
So I'm donning my Lycra and starting training (with about 8 weeks to go!).
It would make putting myself through this hell a whole lot easier if my friends and family could really get behind me (not literally, this ass is not pretty in Lycra) and sponsor some pennies. I know not many of you will know much about my new job, but the charity does incredible things... see below.
Thanks in advance,
Yours in Lycra, chaffing and bum blisters,
Emma
