I decided to terrify myself and run the London Marathon for ClicSargent. An absolutely superb charity, that does not get enough recognition for the outstanding work they do. They work with families with young people with cancer to reduce the burden a diagnosis brings. 

They provide day to day support for the fear and confusion a diagnosis brings, because day to day life doesn’t stop when you have cancer. 

They offer finical support to families, a study published that on average cancer costs £600 per month, this soon adds up. By offering support they can reduce this particular burden. 

They also provide personal care and support at home, or in a hospital closer to home. Traveling long distances for treatments is exhausting and can continue for months. The charity provides Homes from Home close to hospitals were families can stay for free during treatment. 

They help young people plan for the future, so they can think beyond the cancer and take life with both hands. Keeping them in touch with friends, helping schools prepare for their return and helping them regain their confidence. Helping them to thrive not just survive. 

If the unthinkable does happen, ClicSargent help young people and their families prepare for death and help them deal with grief. 

Simply put they help families cope. Keeping them together when it matters most.
