We fundraise for families & sick babies to give them practical & emotional support.

Story

My identical twin nephews Jacob and Theo were delivered 11 weeks early, after suffering from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) in utero and weighing just 0.72 kilos (1.5 pounds) and 1.6 kilos (3.5 pounds).

The first 4 months of the boys lives were spent in hospital on Intensive Care wards being cared for by the best doctors and nurses in the country. Without SSNAP supporting my sister and her husband, providing onsite accommodation, emotional support and funding life-saving equipment and research none of this would have been possible.

On the 1st May 2021, I will be taking part in the Isle of Wight challenge, which involves running (and walking!) 106K in under 24hrs. This will be the furthest, toughest and most challenging run I will have ever completed!

Please see below the link to SSNAP’s charity page, for more information on the wonderful support they offer:

Any donation you can give towards this amazing charity will be greatly appreciated.

 Thanks very much

In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.
