Story
Hello All
About the charity Charity Registration No. 1121619
We are ECIL, (Ealing Centre for Independent Living) in Ealing W13. ECIL is a user-led charity, supporting disabled people, by providing information, advice, support, counselling.
We campaign on many issues, challenging any barriers that stop us doing things which are taken for granted by able bodied.
We want to complete this challenge to prove we can independently participate in events like everybody else, and provide resources to keep our Centre and Shop Mobility running
Without the Centre we don’t have anywhere that is totally accessible to meet, and without Shop Mobility we can’t get around and shop for ourselves and visit local events.
Parallel London is designed for all ages and abilities; anybody can take part in one of our five distances (10km, 5km, 1km, Super Sensory 1km, 100m) set in the Majestic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We will have a stall in the park to talk about what we do and how you can help and join.
We have 3 runners at moment ; Chris, Sharon and Lynette and we would love to have more. We are also getting together a group of wheelchair users and buddies to take part in the Push/Run.
You can do any length you want or Join the group of us doing the push/run 100m. If you can’t run you could get sponsors for our runners and donate on our just giving page. It will be a great day out and if you would like to take part or just come and support us please get in touch with us and we will sign you up.
Chris, Sharon and Lynette will also run the 10k in the Duathlon at Richmond Park on 17th September, details on request
