The Long Way Home · 9 September 2017
We did it!!!!!.....It was definitely 'the long way home'!... over 22 hours of Mountain Bike riding by all 20 riders over 2 days!

The Dept 26 Charity Coast to Coast is back, this time it is an East to West crossing and will take place on September 09/10, 2017.
We will be departing from Shaldon on the South Devon coast and ride back to the North Cornwall coast finishing home in Bude.
It's a big weekend of riding, and a significant challenge to all that have signed up!
Day 1 covers 70km with over 2300m climbing (1800m descent).
Day 2 is longer at 100km but with 'only' 1275m climbing, 1750m descent and some easier terrain.
So all in your looking at 170km (106 miles) with in excess of 3500 (11700 feet) vertical. How high is that? Well add Scafell pike, to Snowdon and Ben Nevis (highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland) (from sea level) and your nearly there!
The route has a high percentage of off road riding using double track byways, single track and cycle paths.
We hope to be largely self-sufficient. But will have a small amount of support if the needs arises.
Almost 20 riders have set themselves up for this real challenge and they are all taking it on with the hope to raise money for Talan's Trust, as it is a trust that is very close to us all.
Talan's Trust raises money for the Chris Lucas Trust and this is where your donation will be going to directly through this page.
We hope that you will all be generous in supporting us and this very worthy and important charity.
It's a long way home.
