Story
This year the Christmas trees on Skippon Terrace are being dedicated to the memory of David Lindley, who passed away at St Gemma's Hospice on the 20th of August after a brave battle with cancer.
Having lived on Skippon Terrace for 43 years he was loved and respected by so many in our community. With him as its choirmaster and organist, Saint Peter's Church Choir gave performances of a standard that belied the modest size of the village. As Professor Emeritus of Renaissance English at Leeds University he was held in great esteem, not only as an excellent scholar but as a man of exceptional wit and warmth. And as a friend to so many in Thorner, he was great company.
This page has been set up by David’s friends and neighbours on Skippon Terrace as a tribute to his memory and to raise funds for St Gemma's Hospice.
