Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In 2018 my cousin Lorna, a healthy mother with two young boys, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare and incurable type of blood cancer deep in the bone marrow, which causes bone damage and kidney issues. Since then, she has been undergoing treatment with remarkable calmness and courage.
Those at the forefront of Myeloma research are working on the development and approval of improved drugs, which are more effective and cause reduced side effects. And we may even hold out hope of a cure within our lifetimes. The sooner this can be achieved, the fewer transplants Lorna and others may have to go through to help prolong their lives.
For my part, I have signed up to run my first ever half marathon to help raise money for this worthy cause. I've spent the past few months getting back into shape, and am looking forward to pushing on and doing myself justice in the race. I haven't set a grand fundraising target, because I am aware that we are all living through difficult times. However, any and all donations will be hugely appreciated, and will genuinely make a difference.
