Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On the 19th September, I along with four other keen(!) cyclists will begin the RAINBOW QUEST! We are cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End in an attempt to raise £5,000 for Rainbow Living.

I personally did this journey 6 years ago in support of another Devon based charity. Since then I have experienced considerable ill health which needed major coronary surgery. I have now recovered and have always wanted to do it again.

My support and cycling colleagues all fell into place when I met Terry Windeatt, a retired police officer, on a railway journey from Cardiff to Exeter in November 2017. We were talking generally and Terry quickly agreed to join me. Not bad for a pair of pensioners touching 70.

It was quickly agreed with Tony Pinniger, a member of the Rainbow Living Board, that he would join us too. Not long after I went to visit my GP, Dr James Hayter and discussed my intent to which he expressed an interest in coming too. Not long after that James's friend Matthew Jones of Bridford expressed interest and he too is coming.

What a great team - a doctor, a copper and three potentially needy cyclists! We have had a number of offers of support drivers so far and thank you all for offering.

My interest in Rainbow Living started around 3 years ago when I agreed to undertake a couple of fund raising events on their behalf. I really do enjoy working with a group of totally committed people doing such marvelous work; the most important aspect to me is that all money donated goes straight back into the charity's work. They really do deserve support.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
