I have marked my dad Derek’s birthday with an epic running challenge every year since he died in December 2014.

On what would have been his dad’s 73rd birthday, Chris completed 73 one-mile loops of Orford Park a year later he ran 74 miles from Llandudno, Derek’s favourite place, back to Warrington to mark his 74th birthday.

Last year Chris at 49 years old took on his
biggest challenge yet by running for 24 consecutive hours in Orford Park, in which time he is hoping to cover 120 miles. Orford resident Chris said: “My
family all think I’m loopy and my mum thinks I’m a confused hamster who likes running around in circles.

Chris’ previous three birthday runs have raised around £5,000 for Warrington group of the MS Society, with Derek having suffered from multiple sclerosis for more than 30 years.

Chris will be running again for MS in the Cotswold 24-hour cross-country run commencing on 4th of August
which takes place on the Bathurst Estate which is just outside Cirencester. But again he will be supporting 2 charities our branch and WECA a Warrington
community group that celebrates diversity.
