Event: Acorns Great Wall of China Trek - 2018, from 5 October 2018 to 13 October 2018
We have 30 intrepid trekkers taking on his trek to raise funds for life limited and life threatened children and their families in the Midlands

Story

We are Christine Sumner and Sallie Attwell, two friends from Worcestershire, who  decided that we needed a personal challenge and at the same time  raise money for a local charity.

What better way to support Acorns Children's Charity in their 30th Anniversary year than  by taking part in the Great Wall Trek of China in October 2018 along with 26 other lovely trekkers. The trekking on this challenge is hard due to the number of steps we trek up and down over a period of 5 days, on some remote areas of the wall. This includes the need to conquer the 1000 steps up to the wall at Mutianyu, culminating with the ascent of the Heavenly Ladder. Here's the link to Acorns website so you can read about the marvellous work they do!   https://www.acorns.org.uk/

Costs of our trip are being paid by ourselves therefore all money pledged will go to Acorns Children's Charity. We have both really had to improve our fitness levels in order to prepare for the challenge, including regular sessions in the gym, rambling.and hill walks

We'll let you into a secret.. in that we agreed to this challenge whilst in the cinema waiting to watch "Fifty Shades of Grey"!

Thank you for any support no matter how small.
