I lost my dad to oesophageal cancer and it broke my heart.  I couldn’t process the grief and it left me in a dark place for quite some time.  2022 will mark 5 years since we lost him and I finally feel strong enough to acknowledge and use this grief to make a positive contribution in his memory.

Living in a world of grief can be extremely lonely.  Cancer is a heartbreaking disease that affects the lives of so many and can tear family’s apart.  I hope that any amount of money we can raise will help other families from experiencing such heartbreak.  

My children were very young when we lost my dad.  My hope is that one day we can prevent any other children growing up without a grandpa or any other relative.  Losing a loved one feels like life is a jigsaw puzzle with a missing a piece.

My dad spent his life helping others.  He drove building supplies all around The Lakes and he knew everyone.  He was the best tour guide & knew every nook & cranny!  It seem’s fitting that i go home and walk the LDC 100k continuous for him- this one’s for Merv! 💙
